Cartesia is an AI research and product company founded by Stanford PhD researchers who pioneered State Space Models (SSMs). The company is building efficient, large-scale foundation models with a focus on architectures that learn from and interact with the world like humans do. Backed by Index Ventures, Lightspeed, and others, Cartesia combines deep expertise in model innovation, systems engineering, and design-minded product development.
As Executive Business Partner, you will serve as a critical operational leader supporting the four co-founders. This role sits at the intersection of executive support and business operations—far beyond traditional EA work. You'll manage complex, rapidly evolving calendars across founders while protecting time for high-value strategic work. You'll anticipate needs, prepare founders thoroughly for meetings, handle confidential information with discretion, and own travel planning and expenses.
You'll build and run the operating rhythms that keep the company aligned: leadership meetings, annual planning, OKR processes, cross-functional reviews, and other key business cycles. You'll coordinate board meetings, work directly with board members' EAs, and support board materials preparation. You'll draft agendas, capture decisions, and track follow-ups to ensure commitments close.
This role requires high agency and judgment. You'll often receive ambiguous problems rather than clear briefs and be expected to figure out what needs to happen, bring the right people together, and drive execution. You'll partner closely with co-founders on business needs, push for clarity and follow-through across teams, build strong relationships with functional leaders and key stakeholders, and represent the founders thoughtfully with external stakeholders including investors, partners, and candidates.
You should be comfortable operating with significant autonomy, knowing when to take something off a founder's plate, when to push for clarity, and when to escalate. This is a fully in-person role based in San Francisco. The company also has offices in London and Bangalore but this position is SF-based.
