Fintual is building a new pension fund administrator (AFP) in Chile with first-class technology from day one. This role is foundational to the investment controls function. You will ensure that pension funds comply with all legal and internal policy investment limits at all times. The company is launching under the new Investment Regime for Generational Funds (Ley 21.735), and you will build this control system from scratch alongside the engineering team—making it automatic, traceable, and bulletproof. You don't need to code, but you must speak the same language as the tech team and translate complex investment regulations into clear business rules. Key responsibilities: • Control & Monitoring: Oversee automated monitoring of legal and internal policy limit compliance for each fund before and after every operation, including indirect investments. Directly execute analysis of alerts and excesses. • Excess Management: Identify, document, and report investment excesses on time. Coordinate with the Investment team on regularization plans and track them to closure. • Reporting: Prepare limit-control reports for the Investment Committee, Board, and Superintendencia de Pensiones (pension regulator). • Requirements Translation: Document each limit as a business rule (formula, data source, alert threshold) so engineering can build a reliable control engine. • Technology Co-Design: Collaborate with the tech team on design, validation, and testing of investment control systems. • Continuous Improvement: Monitor regulatory and policy changes, incorporate them into the system, propose automations, and prioritize implementation. • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with Risk, Internal Audit, and Fund Operations on control reviews, and support interactions with the pension regulator on investment limits. You will be part of a multidisciplinary founding team where your expertise is a key piece of the puzzle. The company offers hybrid flexibility, competitive market-rate compensation, and the rare opportunity to reshape how a pension fund operates in Chile. REQUIREMENTS: Must-Have: • Minimum 3 years of experience in investment limit controls, middle office, or investment compliance at a Chilean AFP or AGF • Practical, detailed knowledge of DL 3.500 and the Investment Regime for Pension Funds • Experience managing investment excesses from detection through regularization • Experience implementing or adapting controls in response to regulatory change • Demonstrated ability to document complex rules and processes clearly and structurally • Strong affinity for technology tools and genuine willingness to work closely with software engineering teams Desirable: • Experience in the investment area of an AFP • Background in commercial or civil engineering • Knowledge of the new Investment Regime for Generational Funds (Ley 21.735) • Experience with investment limit control systems or pre-trade order-checking systems • Knowledge of alternative assets, derivatives, and fund look-through analysis • Familiarity with agile methodologies or experience embedded in development teams
