Halter is a fast-growing AgTech company revolutionizing livestock management through virtual fencing technology. The company's collars and app enable farmers to manage cattle herds without traditional fencing, quad bikes, or dogs—using GPS and behavioral monitoring instead. Halter is backed by top-tier investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC.
You will serve as Halter's primary representative in South America during the company's regional launch, acting as a bridge between early-adopter farmers and the product/engineering teams in New Zealand. This is a pioneering role requiring deep field engagement and market understanding.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Deploying Halter with first-mover customers in the field (hands-on, not desk-based work)
- Building strong relationships with pioneer producers to understand their operations and pain points
- Translating field learnings into clear, actionable feedback for remote product and engineering teams
- Developing expertise in South American livestock production practices and sharing that context across the organization
- Critically evaluating the product end-to-end and identifying gaps, improvements, and next-build priorities
- Ensuring early customers maximize value and see measurable results
- Collaborating with commercial teams to maintain alignment as the business scales
- Traveling nationally and internationally as needed
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in South American livestock production (required), genuine passion for animals and the future of regional ranching, and curiosity about technology. You must communicate clearly, think critically under uncertainty, learn quickly, and thrive in a dynamic, high-energy startup environment. Fluent English is essential for collaboration with headquarters. A hands-on, resilient mindset and flexibility around travel and weekend work are expected.
