LVT (LiveView Technologies) is seeking an Equity and Compensation Accountant to own the end-to-end accounting, tax compliance, and reporting for the company's equity plans. This role bridges equity administration and corporate financial reporting, following a strategic transition of the equity function from Legal to Finance.
Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day equity program administration within Carta, calculating and recording monthly stock-based compensation expenses under ASC 718, and maintaining inputs for option pricing models (Black-Scholes). The accountant will serve as the primary liaison for external valuation firms during annual 409A valuation refreshes.
The role owns preparation of all equity-related audit PBC (Prepared by Client) requests and ensures seamless support for external auditors. Responsibilities include drafting financial statement footnote disclosures, establishing SOX-compliant workflows around cap table modifications, and maintaining rigid internal controls.
Tax and payroll integration is critical: coordinating with payroll teams on tax withholding for equity events, preparing and filing annual IRS equity tax forms (Form 3921, Form 3922), tracking Deferred Tax Assets, and calculating tax windfalls/shortfalls. The accountant also owns broader compensation accounting tasks including monthly payroll journal entries, bonus accruals, and 401(k) match reconciliations.
General ledger support includes monthly reconciliations between Carta and the General Ledger for all equity-related accounts, reconciling cash flows from option exercises and tax withholding wires, and providing tie-out support during month-end and year-end close cycles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, loves data integrity, thrives during audit cycles, and possesses strong understanding of stock-based compensation accounting.
