Datadog is seeking an Equity Administration Assistant Manager to join its Finance team in New York. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Equity Administration, this role combines hands-on technical equity work with emerging leadership responsibilities. You will oversee complex and high-risk equity administration workstreams while continuing to execute detailed technical tasks.
Key responsibilities include processing equity transactions (RSU releases, stock option exercises, ESPP purchases) in the E*TRADE Equity Edge Online platform; serving as a preparer and reviewer on equity transactions with proper approvals and controls; maintaining process documentation, calendars, and checklists to ensure audit readiness; and driving team initiatives around system implementations and process automation.
You will coordinate across multiple internal departments—Accounting, Tax, People Operations, Payroll, and Legal—to manage the full equity administration cycle on a global basis. This includes handling international tax compliance, Section 16 officer and director transactions, Rule 10b5-1 trading plan administration, and SOX control environment support. You'll partner with external vendors including the stock plan provider, transfer agent, trustees, and local advisors.
Additional duties encompass global equity reporting and compliance with international regulatory requirements; coordinating with Payroll and Tax to deliver accurate equity income and withholding data across all countries where the company grants equity; resolving exceptions and mobile employee allocations; and designing and delivering employee equity education programs, enrollment campaigns, and self-service resources for a global workforce.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of equity or stock plan administration experience, including time at a U.S. public company, with strong experience supporting a global employee population. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is required. Deep hands-on platform experience with E*TRADE Equity Edge Online is strongly preferred, along with a solid command of equity mechanics, U.S. and international tax withholding and reporting, ASC 718 concepts, Section 16 and Rule 10b5-1 regulations, and SOX controls. CEP (Certified Equity Professional) designation is preferred or in progress. The role values coachability, willingness to learn, and the ability to manage diverse analytical issues.
