Akuity is hiring an Enterprise Sales Manager to lead the AMER sales team selling the Akuity Platform, an end-to-end GitOps solution for managing Kubernetes deployments at scale. The platform is built on Argo CD, the third most popular CNCF project used by 70% of companies running Kubernetes in production, including Intuit, BlackRock, Tesla, MLB, and Peloton.
You will lead a team of four Account Executives today, growing to six by Q4, with new East and West coverage launching in the fall. This is a hands-on role where you'll own pipeline generation, deal strategy, hiring, coaching, and forecasting for the AMER region.
Key responsibilities include: leading day-to-day AE activities (pipeline reviews, deal strategy, one-on-ones); hiring and onboarding two new Account Executives; partnering on enterprise deals to build compelling business cases for technical and economic buyers; owning quarterly forecasting; building outbound motion using community signals from the Argo ecosystem; collaborating with marketing and sales engineering on enablement and product announcements; and feeding market insights back to product.
You bring 5+ years of enterprise sales leadership experience, including proven success managing Account Executive teams at small companies selling into large enterprises. You've sold commercial platforms alongside widely adopted open-source projects and understand how to articulate the value of the paid layer to teams already using the free version. You're comfortable coaching technical buyers and reaching economic decision-makers, though deep Kubernetes/GitOps expertise is a bonus rather than requirement. You build pipeline proactively with your team, have strong opinions on outbound execution, and communicate clearly with cross-functional peers on forecast accuracy.
In your first 30 days, you'll meet each AE, understand their books, listen to calls, run pipeline reviews, and begin recruiting. By 90 days, you'll own an accurate forecast, have new hires signed, establish repeatable outbound motion, and refresh sales enablement. By six months, the team reaches six AEs with strong ramp, the fall product launch has sales motion behind it, and you're trusted across product, marketing, and support as a credible market voice.
The role is remote within the US with quarterly travel expected. Director title is available for the right candidate.
