Fieldguide is building software to automate and streamline audit, assurance, and compliance work for cybersecurity, privacy, and ESG practitioners. The company is backed by top-tier VCs including Bessemer Venture Partners, Y Combinator, and others, and operates as a remote-first organization headquartered in San Francisco.
As Enterprise Account Executive for Public Sector, you will own the full sales cycle for Fieldguide's Internal Audit AI platform within government and public sector organizations. This is a greenfield role—you'll be building the public sector go-to-market strategy from the ground up, starting with federal agencies and expanding into state, local, and higher education markets as the practice scales.
Fieldguide uniquely supports both financial statement/external-audit work and operational audits in a single platform, a major differentiator for public sector audit organizations responsible for both functions.
Key responsibilities include: prospecting and closing deals across a new account base; navigating public sector-specific buying cycles and contract vehicles; building trust-based relationships with decision-makers (Inspector Generals, Comptrollers, audit directors); developing and executing sales strategies using MEDDICC methodology; collaborating cross-functionally with Solutions, Finance, Product, and Marketing teams; refining go-to-market messaging and talk tracks as the practice matures; and attending networking events and conferences to generate new business. Up to 30% travel is required.
You bring 5+ years of Account Executive experience with a proven track record of exceeding quota and closing net-new logos. You have deep familiarity with public sector buying environments (federal, state, local, higher education) and experience selling complex, organization-wide software transformation solutions involving multithreaded stakeholder management. You're comfortable building in ambiguity, have strong project management skills, and can engage deeply across organizational levels—from executives to practitioners to technical teams. You're a team player who thrives in startup environments and values collaboration and mentorship.
Bonus experience includes working for or selling to audit, advisory, or assurance firms, and engaging procurement and audit leadership across operational and technical functions.
