You will lead the computational geometry and CAD/CAM software team, managing engineers who build the tools that transform complex manufacturing engineering problems into scalable, automated workflows. This role bridges software engineering, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the computational geometry software team with day-to-day direction and mentorship
- Partnering closely with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to understand production challenges and translate them into software requirements and development priorities
- Guiding development of software that analyzes, manipulates, and generates complex 3D geometry for composite parts and tooling
- Leading development of internal engineering tools that improve speed, quality, and scalability of manufacturing workflows
- Automating workflows across CAD/CAM, tooling, machining, and other manufacturing processes
- Making technical and product tradeoffs based on both software considerations and manufacturing realities
The ideal candidate has a manufacturing or mechanical engineering background combined with strong programming experience, including work with computational geometry, CAD/CAM, or geometric modeling. You should be technical enough to guide engineering decisions, understand the geometry problems being solved, and translate real-world manufacturing challenges into effective software solutions. Deep algorithm expertise is not required, but technical depth and manufacturing domain knowledge are essential.
