StubHub is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead high-impact teams responsible for building the financial and tax systems that power a global ticketing marketplace. This technical leadership role focuses on driving business and customer outcomes through operational rigor, data-informed decisions, and strong people management.
You will lead two closely connected teams: Revenue Finance Engineering and Tax Engineering. Revenue Finance Engineering owns systems that turn millions of transactions into accurate, auditable financial data—including revenue recognition, billing and settlement, ledgers, reconciliation, and reporting that Finance and Accounting rely on to close the books. Tax Engineering owns how StubHub calculates, collects, and remits taxes across jurisdictions (sales tax, VAT/GST, marketplace facilitator obligations) and manages compliance and reporting workflows.
These systems sit at the intersection of engineering, finance, and regulation. They must be correct, resilient, and audit-ready at scale, underpinning decisions made at the executive level. As Engineering Manager, you will set technical direction across both teams, partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Tax stakeholders, and grow a team that treats financial integrity as a first-class engineering problem.
Key responsibilities include: identifying high-leverage problems and delivering solutions with quantifiable business impact; owning team delivery with precision and resolving blockers quickly; hiring exceptional engineers and actively coaching performance; using data and metrics to guide priorities; championing system design, code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability; building a psychologically safe, inclusive team culture; and collaborating with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Product, and Data partners to align on priorities and deliver business-critical initiatives.
This is a high-visibility role with executive support and opportunities to influence architecture, mentor engineers, and shape how StubHub drives customer lifetime value. The role is hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) with offices in New York, NY or Century City, CA.
