Salary: USD 239,200 - 249,200 / annual
Forward Networks, founded in 2013 by Stanford Ph.D.s, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the architecture, research, and development of machine learning systems powering AI features within their network digital twin platform. The role involves overseeing the design and implementation of large language model-based systems that enable natural-language interaction with the platform, including query generation, summarization, and conversational AI capabilities.
Key responsibilities include leading development of an agentic AI system that automates complex network analysis workflows, guiding system component design for LLM interpretation of user intent and multi-step workflow planning, and managing long-term AI initiatives through quarterly and annual roadmap planning. You will coordinate development work across machine learning, backend, and frontend engineering teams to deliver AI-driven capabilities within the Forward Enterprise platform.
The role requires collaboration with product management and UX teams to define feature requirements and guide technical implementation. You will manage and mentor machine learning engineers, conduct hiring interviews, perform performance reviews, and guide team members in technical development and project execution. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for production issues involving AI features, monitor system performance, triage incidents, and coordinate debugging and resolution across engineering teams.
