Wordsmith is a legal operating system for in-house legal teams, backed by over $100M from Index Ventures and General Catalyst. The company serves 500+ customers including Financial Times, Canva, and Starling, helping legal teams manage requests, leverage AI agents for routine work, and maintain control over judgment-critical decisions.
As Enablement Lead, you will own the complete customer learning journey—from onboarding through ongoing capability development. This is a dedicated enablement role focused purely on customer capability, not implementation, support, renewals, or sales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and continuously improve the onboarding journey that takes newly implemented customers to confident, self-sufficient teams
- Build curriculum teaching legal teams how to work effectively with AI agents, understanding where judgment remains with humans
- Lead live training sessions (onboarding, product walkthroughs, feature deep dives) for lawyers, business users, and admins at all technical levels
- Create self-paced online certifications and learning paths so customers can train new joiners independently
- Maintain and update enablement library (guides, product overviews) as the product evolves
- Diagnose and re-enable customers whose adoption has stalled through focused capability programs
- Train customer champions and admins to teach their colleagues, multiplying impact within each account
- Collaborate with Product to embed guidance, walkthroughs, and prompts directly into the Wordsmith interface
- Define metrics for trained, self-sufficient customers and use data to refine teaching approaches
- Partner with Transformation, Customer Success, Support Engineering, and Product teams to ensure enablement reflects real implementations and product changes
Wordsmith operates as an in-person team in Edinburgh with an expectation to work from the office and visit customers regularly. You'll work closely with the VP of Transformation and cross-functional customer teams, each with clear ownership: Transformation handles implementation, Support Engineering handles technical issues, Account Management owns renewals and growth, Customer Success owns adoption and health, and Enablement owns onboarding and capability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years in customer enablement, training, onboarding, customer education, implementation, or similar customer-facing roles where teaching was central
- Ability to design learning curricula, not just deliver content; can translate complex products into clear sequences with defined outcomes
- Confidence presenting in person and on video to senior lawyers and day-to-day users alike
- Experience building self-paced content (courses, certifications, guides, video) with understanding of what drives completion
- Clear, warm communication style that makes unfamiliar concepts accessible without oversimplifying
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple programs, sessions, and content deadlines simultaneously
- Comfort reading and acting on product-usage data to identify where learning gaps exist
- Curiosity about AI and legal technology; no legal background required, but willingness to learn the product and customer domain deeply
- Growth mindset: welcome feedback, apply coaching, and commit to rapid development
