Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000 / annual
Cyera is a high-growth SaaS company providing AI trust infrastructure for enterprises. The company is seeking an Employment Counsel to join its global legal team as the primary legal partner for People Operations in the US.
Reporting to the Director of Legal in NYC, this role sits at the intersection of legal, HR, and business operations. You will own day-to-day employment counseling across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, leaves of absence, accommodations, investigations, wage and hour compliance, performance management, and separations. You will handle administrative agency matters (EEOC, DOL) and employment litigation disputes, working with outside counsel on specialized or high-risk cases.
Key responsibilities include supporting the development and documentation of sales commission and incentive compensation plans; advising the Benefits team on compliance and vendor contract terms; owning OFCCP compliance reports and regulatory filings; overseeing HR and payroll audits; assisting with Employee Handbook updates and employment training materials; and monitoring emerging employment law issues, particularly around AI use in hiring, performance management, and workplace monitoring.
You will work closely with People Operations, Benefits, and Finance teams. The role requires onsite presence at the NYC headquarters 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely otherwise.
Required qualifications: J.D. with active bar membership in New York or California (or other US jurisdictions); 7-10+ years of employment law experience in-house or at reputable law firms advising high-growth tech companies; strong knowledge of state and federal employment law; experience with administrative agency matters and employment litigation; ability to advise diverse workforces in fast-growing SaaS environments; excellent drafting and communication skills; and strong project management and prioritization abilities.
