The Access Control team is a dynamic startup-within-a-startup focused on building cloud-managed access control systems. This role offers significant ownership and autonomy working alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop and scale the access control product line.
You will tackle large, complex problems with no clear answers, taking less-than-fully-fleshed-out product ideas and driving them to completion. You'll have technical ownership of major systems while learning new technologies and contributing your expertise to the team. The role emphasizes delivering best-in-class products and experiences, not just features.
Required qualifications include a BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or science; 3+ years of Linux development experience as a Software Engineer; proficiency in C/C++; and deep familiarity with Linux servers, device drivers, kernel patches, secure operating systems, and security-focused programming.
Preferred experience includes embedded Linux, Bash scripting, Yocto, Secure Boot, Go and Python, WebRTC, distributed systems, HTTP, and practical debugging techniques. The role requires full-time onsite presence five days per week in San Mateo.
