Salary: USD 115,000 - 180,000 / annual
EC Electric seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead the project team and oversee the successful completion of assigned commercial electrical construction projects. This role carries full accountability for project delivery, customer satisfaction, safety performance, quality assurance, and financial success.
The Senior Project Manager will typically oversee approximately 10 active projects concurrently, each valued at around $10 million annually. Key responsibilities include managing all business aspects of multiple concurrent projects while ensuring financial targets and quality standards are met. The role involves completing pre-job tasks such as Viewpoint checklists and contract reviews, developing and communicating project execution plans, and establishing work plans and staffing for each project phase.
Additional duties include contract management and claims/disputes resolution, working with the Estimating department on project reviews and procurement, mentoring Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The Senior Project Manager acts as a liaison between customers, general contractors, and project staff to identify scope changes, address issues, and communicate project milestones. The role requires developing and maintaining resource-loaded master schedules, setting cash flow goals, generating management of operations plans, and conducting regular owner/GC weekly meetings.
Financial responsibilities include accurate monthly forecasting, schedule of values management, and oversight of equipment tracking and quality control. The Senior Project Manager ensures project safety and quality are properly incorporated into job planning and execution, with emphasis on injury-free work practices and risk mitigation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience in commercial electrical construction, including oversight of multiple concurrent projects
- Demonstrated success managing project portfolios exceeding $10 million annually, with responsibility for financial performance, forecasting, and budget control
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, change orders, claims resolution, and subcontractor/vendor agreements
- Experience leading project teams, mentoring Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop and manage project schedules, resource plans, procurement activities, cash flow projections, and quality assurance programs
- Extensive knowledge of construction safety standards, jobsite risk mitigation, and implementation of injury-free work practices
- Excellent communication, customer relationship management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
