Skydio, the leading US autonomous drone company, is seeking an EHS Specialist to build and scale environmental health and safety programs across headquarters, R&D, field operations, and deployment activities. This role operates across traditional office and laboratory spaces, engineering areas, field deployment locations, customer sites, public-safety facilities, rooftops, and other non-traditional work environments. You will partner with EHS Leadership, Field Operations, Deployment Engineering, R&D, Facilities, and business leaders to identify hazards, implement controls, support regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, and establish scalable EHS processes. Key responsibilities include: • Develop and implement EHS programs across multiple business divisions, building new safety infrastructure for areas historically lacking dedicated EHS support. • Conduct field and site safety assessments for deployments, installations, customer locations, and remote operations, including rooftop work, work at height, ladder use, electrical activities, and battery handling. • Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task risk assessments, and site-specific risk assessments; recommend engineering, administrative, PPE, and procedural controls. • Establish weather-related work restrictions and safe work practices for diverse field conditions and environments. • Investigate injuries, incidents, near misses, and property damage; identify root causes, establish corrective actions, and track closure. • Develop and deliver EHS training to employees, managers, field teams, engineers, and affected personnel. • Support contractor and vendor safety programs, including pre-task risk assessment and qualification. • Maintain EHS documentation, training records, inspection records, incident tracking, and support emergency preparedness planning. • Support EHS audits, inspections, regulatory readiness, PPE management, and continuous-improvement initiatives; analyze EHS performance data for dashboards and reporting. • Maintain visible, collaborative EHS presence across business groups and sites, partnering with leaders to improve safety culture. • Participate in new process, equipment, facility, and deployment reviews; support establishment of scalable systems for domestic and international operations. Required: 3+ years progressive EHS specialist experience, degree in EHS/Occupational Safety/Environmental Science/Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience, working knowledge of OSHA general-industry requirements, experience with fall protection, ladder safety, PPE, Hazard Communication, electrical safety, LOTO, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and incident investigation. Must have experience conducting JHAs, risk assessments, inspections, and investigations in field operations, construction, installations, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, or facilities environments. Strong communication, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, work independently while partnering with operational teams, and comfort in fast-changing environments where programs are still being developed.
