The Director/VP of Tax Equity Capital will lead capital markets activities with primary focus on origination, structuring, and execution of tax equity and tax-efficient financing vehicles. Reporting to the President of Palmetto Capital Markets, this role will manage key relationships with tax equity investors, banks, and other financing partners while overseeing financial modeling and transaction execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of tax equity transactions and other tax-efficient financing vehicles
- Developing and nurturing relationships with tax equity investors and identifying new capital sources
- Overseeing development and execution of Excel financial models supporting tax equity and capital funding activities
- Managing tax equity and financing transactions from initial investor engagement through closing
- Overseeing reporting to key financial stakeholders
- Collaborating with Corporate Finance, Treasury, Asset Management, and Accounting teams
- Developing and nurturing relationships with key banks and external partners
- Contributing to broader capital markets activities based on experience and business needs
- Developing junior capital markets team members
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; 6+ years in banking or capital markets; strong financial modeling and deal structuring experience; demonstrated experience originating, structuring, and executing tax equity transactions; strong relationships with tax equity investors; proven track record on complex financial transactions. Renewable energy and tax equity experience strongly preferred. Experience with debt structuring and/or tax credit origination is valued. Must thrive in fast-paced, customer-centric environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
