Nivoda is a global B2B diamond and gemstone marketplace connecting jewelry retailers with suppliers. As Director of Supplier Business Development, you'll lead supplier acquisition, onboarding, and account management to grow and optimize the supplier base. This is a relationship-driven role requiring regular in-person engagement with suppliers in NYC and surrounding regions. Key responsibilities include identifying and onboarding high-quality suppliers aligned with category standards, building deep consultative relationships as the primary point of contact for supplier success, and driving revenue growth through performance analysis and optimization. You'll act as a consultant and coach, guiding suppliers on product offerings, pricing, and inventory alignment with market demand. The role involves proactive support, escalation coordination with internal teams (tech, operations, customer support), and cross-functional collaboration with category management, product, and marketing. You'll use data-driven approaches to assess supplier performance, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable feedback on selection, pricing, availability, and quality metrics. Responsibilities also include maintaining high-quality standards, reducing return rates, promoting express stock and fast-delivery initiatives, and supporting supplier training and development on best practices. Required: 8+ years in sales, business development, or account management in wholesale diamonds or jewelry; commercial acumen and negotiation experience; ability to build trust with skeptical business owners; tech proficiency with CRM and digital tools; self-starter mentality with ability to operate independently and create structure; data-driven account management approach; excellent communication with senior stakeholders and small business owners. Nice-to-have: familiarity with wholesale buying patterns, inventory-led businesses, or supply chain dynamics; proven track record driving revenue through partner/supplier relationships; background at high-growth marketplace or platform with strong enterprise/SMB sales culture.
