Matillion is seeking a Director of Solution Architecture to lead the technical strategy and vision for how customers implement and derive value from Maia, the AI Data Automation platform. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success, owning the architecture patterns, best practices, and reference implementations that enable enterprise customers like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack to accelerate their data automation initiatives.
As Director, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of solution architects, setting technical direction and ensuring consistent, high-quality customer outcomes
- Define solution architecture frameworks, patterns, and methodologies that guide how customers deploy and optimize Maia
- Partner with Product and Engineering to translate customer needs into product roadmap priorities and technical requirements
- Establish thought leadership in data automation and AI-driven data engineering, representing Matillion at industry events and in customer advisory boards
- Own the technical onboarding and implementation strategy for strategic accounts, ensuring successful adoption and expansion
- Drive continuous improvement in solution delivery processes, tooling, and documentation
- Collaborate with Sales to qualify opportunities, scope engagements, and position Maia's capabilities
You bring 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, data engineering, or related technical leadership roles. You have deep expertise in data platforms, ETL/ELT, cloud data warehousing, and modern data stack architectures. You're comfortable with both hands-on technical work and people leadership, and you thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments. Your communication skills allow you to translate complex technical concepts for C-suite stakeholders while mentoring junior architects on the team.
