Altruist is an AI-powered platform transforming wealth management by empowering financial advisors to grow their practices, optimize resources, and deliver superior client outcomes. The company partners with advisors nationwide and is in an exceptional growth phase.
You will own Altruist's recruiter and referral partner channel end-to-end, from partner selection through funded assets. This is a strategic role managing a network of advisor-recruiting and transition-consulting firms that introduce breakaway teams and firms evaluating custody changes to the Altruist platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and manage a roster of advisor-recruiting and transition-consulting firms, adding new partners based on lead quality, fit with Altruist's ideal advisor profile, and acquisition cost.
- Develop and grow relationships across the wider RIA ecosystem, including industry organizations (FPA, XYPN, NAPFA), custodian-conversion consultants, RIA M&A and practice-management advisors, broker-dealer transition consultants, and TAMP and outsourced-CIO platforms.
- Manage referral agreements with Finance and Legal, including AUM-based payout terms, measurement windows, and true-ups.
- Train partners on Altruist's offering, target firms, and competitive positioning.
- Run referral intake and routing to Sales, establish follow-up standards, and close the loop with partners on every introduction.
- Coordinate with Onboarding and Transitions teams to ensure smooth advisor transitions.
- Track all referrals in CRM from introduction to funded assets, manage partner payouts, and report on pipeline, conversion, AUM, and partner ROI.
- Represent Altruist at industry conferences, association events, and recruiter gatherings.
Success in year one is measured by: active recruiter partners producing qualified introductions quarterly; new introductions from industry organizations and platforms; referred advisor AUM funded at Altruist; acquisition cost per AUM in line with targets; and accurate, timely partner payouts with a single trusted view of channel results.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years in wealth management or financial services, with exposure to advisor recruiting, advisor transitions, partnerships, or business development.
- Relationships with advisor recruiting or transition consulting firms, or experience working with them at a custodian, broker-dealer, RIA, or aggregator.
- Established relationships across wealth management, investment, technology, and industry organizations, including FPA, XYPN, NAPFA, custodian-conversion consultants, RIA M&A and practice-management advisors, broker-dealer transition consultants, and TAMP and outsourced-CIO platforms.
- Strong understanding of the RIA, wealth management, asset management, custody, or investment technology ecosystem.
- Understanding of how advisors move from wirehouses and broker-dealers to the independent RIA model, including custody selection criteria.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Organized, metrics-driven approach with comfort using CRM tracking and channel reporting.
- Clear communication and ability to work across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
