Jerry is a consumer app that manages car and home ownership—insurance, repairs, financing, maintenance—consolidating what has historically been fragmented and expensive. Founded in 2019, Jerry started with car insurance and has grown to 5M+ customers, $240M+ in funding, 70X revenue scaling, and profitability as of early 2024. The company is now expanding into home, motorcycle, and adjacent physical assets.
You will own the end-to-end partnerships motion for Jerry's new product lines. This includes building the partnership pipeline, structuring complex deals with insurance carriers and distribution partners, and ensuring partner success post-close. The role reports directly to the VP of Partnerships.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and run the partnerships pipeline for new product lines from initial outreach through signed agreement and onboarding
- Lead insurance carrier and partner conversations independently—qualifying fit, understanding partner needs, structuring value propositions, and closing deals
- Design creative deal structures for partners who don't fit standard paths
- Own partner success post-close, working cross-functionally to ensure ramp, engagement, and long-term relationships
- Contribute to vertical strategy by feeding ground-level insights into how new product bets are sequenced and structured
You are truth-seeking, creative, meticulous, and a builder. You verify before concluding, find non-obvious routes when standard paths are blocked, catch inconsistencies before they become problems, and break ambiguous problems into clear steps.
Required background:
- 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience building 0-to-1: launching a new partnership category, entering a new market, or building a BD function without inheriting a working model
- Background combining at least two of: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, early-stage startup operating experience
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior external stakeholders and navigate large partner organizations independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a lean, flat organization with no playbook for newer verticals. You will work heavily cross-functionally across product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership. Deals are complex with long cycles; many will not close. The role requires analytical thinking, strong judgment, and persistence.
