Datadog is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead Core Platforms, the internal infrastructure that powers the company's global engineering organization. You will oversee a team of 15+ Product Managers and Group Product Managers responsible for defining and executing strategy for Datadog's foundational platform capabilities.
Your scope spans core data platforms (large-scale ingestion, transformation, storage), internal developer platforms, AI-assisted development tools, and foundational compute, storage, and networking services that enable reliable, cost-efficient scale across Datadog's datacenters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving platform adoption across engineering teams by promoting shared platforms and Golden Paths, reducing duplication and accelerating delivery
- Improving developer velocity, time-to-production, and operational efficiency across the engineering ecosystem
- Driving infrastructure cost efficiency and margin protection through platform reuse and standardization
- Defining and tracking platform success metrics: adoption rates, reduction in internal toil, time-to-production improvements, cost efficiency per workload, and percentage of new products built on shared primitives
- Building, mentoring, and scaling a multi-layer organization of Product Managers, including org design, talent development, and succession planning
You will partner closely with senior engineering leadership to ensure Datadog operates at hyper-scale with high reliability and strong economic discipline. This is an internal-first platform leadership role focused on enabling engineers to build, scale, and operate products efficiently.
Required qualifications: 10+ years B2B SaaS product management experience with 5+ years leading and scaling PM teams. Proven track record leading large-scale internal platforms serving broad engineering organizations. Strong technical foundation with ability to partner deeply with senior engineers on complex platform decisions. Experience with cloud-native architectures, data infrastructure (NoSQL, SQL, in-memory stores), and compute/storage/networking concepts. Data-driven operator skilled at defining meaningful metrics. Execution-oriented with clarity of priorities and bias toward action in ambiguous environments. Excellent communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.
