Element 74, part of Banyan Software, builds case management and association software for victim services and community advocacy organizations. Vela serves agencies supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, while Coalition Manager is used by state coalitions and statewide networks in 49 states. The company has achieved high-90s customer retention and is recognized as mission-critical by end users. You will be Element 74's first VP of Sales, reporting to the CEO and sitting on the leadership team. You will own the new bookings number and build the commercial function from the ground up. The company has grown through product strength, reputation, and founder-led relationships; the next phase requires a deliberate commercial engine with outbound pipeline, disciplined forecasting, repeatable playbooks, and a growing team. In the near term, this is a player-coach role where you will sell alongside leading. Key responsibilities include: **New Logo Growth:** Own the new bookings plan and associated KPIs (MQL/SQL volume, conversion rates, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, win rate, sales cycle, net new ARR). Run the lead generation engine, setting source mix across outbound, campaigns, conferences, and partners. Lead competitive displacement against incumbent platforms. Personally lead statewide and strategic pursuits with multiple stakeholders and formal procurement. **Market Expansion:** Build go-to-market approaches for adjacent verticals including child advocacy centers, Continuums of Care and homelessness networks, human trafficking response organizations, and substance use coalitions. Assess right-to-win by vertical and decide whether to enter via coalition-first motion or directly at the agency layer. **Team Build and Leadership:** Design the sales organization including role profiles, segment/territory ownership, and headcount planning. Recruit, onboard, and develop the team with documented playbooks, activity standards, and ramp expectations. Develop existing team members with clear objectives, structured 1:1s, and performance management. **Commercial Rigor:** Enforce disciplined qualification methodology in CRM with business cases, mapped decision-makers, close plans, and compelling events for every forecast deal. Own contract management including terms, renewals, statewide/multi-site agreements, and grant-funding and public-sector procurement constraints. Partner with CEO and Banyan on pricing, packaging, and billing initiatives. Own sales and marketing costs quarterly. **Requirements:** Must-haves: - 10+ years in B2B software sales, including meaningful experience leading quota-carrying teams and owning a new business number - Track record of building: hired, ramped, and managed sellers (not only inherited teams) - Proven experience managing business development function, including lead generation or SDR layer, with documented record of converting top-of-funnel activity into closed business - Personal selling ability in complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long cycles and formal procurement - Fluency in contract management: owned agreement structure, terms, and renewals - Real command of sales process and CRM discipline (qualification, forecast hygiene, funnel conversion math, pipeline coverage) - Comfortable as player-coach in growing business: hands-on, low-ego, effective without large support function - Willing to travel for customers, conferences, and team Domain experience (most important): - Understanding of mission-driven, grant-funded buyers and how purchasing follows funding cycles (VOCA, VAWA, state, federal, private, donor funds) - Experience with nonprofit, human services, or public sector software (case management, client/member management, benefits, workforce, behavioral health, outcomes software) - Depth in core verticals: victim services, domestic violence and sexual assault, state coalitions and statewide networks - Familiarity with expansion verticals: child advocacy, homelessness services and Continuums of Care, human trafficking response, substance use, adjacent community health and advocacy networks - Experience with statewide and multi-site contracting, winning umbrella agreements that cascade to downstream agencies Preferred: - Experience displacing entrenched incumbents in specialized verticals - Experience introducing price increases, packaging tiers, or annual/multi-year prepay into price-sensitive base - HubSpot or comparable CRM and structured qualification framework such as MEDDIC
