Tanium seeks a Director of R&D and Strategic Finance to serve as a key finance partner to R&D leadership (Engineering, Product, and Strategy). This role owns budget management for R&D organizations while providing financial modeling, analyses, and insights to enable data-driven decision-making aligned with the company's multi-year financial plan.
Key responsibilities include: owning budget management for Engineering and Product, including planning, forecasting, and variance analysis; building relationships with R&D leadership to identify and model growth initiatives and drive investment decisions; leading and developing a small team supporting budgeting, financial modeling, and project execution; preparing high-quality business analyses and modeling for executive stakeholders (COO, CFO, CTO); building and improving management reporting to provide timely, actionable information; developing deep understanding of Tanium's product and go-to-market model; and driving continuous improvement in financial processes, tools, and models.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in strategic/corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, or at high-growth technology companies. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance, extensive financial modeling and analysis experience, strong business acumen, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner with senior leaders in fast-paced environments. Experience leveraging AI to automate processes and improve efficiency is valued. The role requires hybrid work with a minimum of three days per week in one of five office locations.
