PayJoy is a mission-driven Public Benefit Corporation providing secured credit solutions to underserved customers in emerging markets. The company has served over 18 million customers as of 2025 and operates profitably with cutting-edge machine learning, data science, and anti-fraud AI capabilities.
As Director of Product Management, Onboarding, you will lead a team of four product managers responsible for one of PayJoy's most critical business functions: the customer journey from initial contact through loan origination. You will own the end-to-end onboarding vision across digital and in-store channels, with an increasing strategic focus on digital expansion.
Your responsibilities span four key product areas:
**Application**: Optimizing fast, transparent digital applications that comply with local regulations across all markets.
**Direct-to-Consumer**: Building fully digital acquisition journeys independent of physical stores, a rapidly growing channel.
**Enterprise**: Creating digital solutions that empower partners to onboard more customers, driving growth through strategic partnerships.
**Offers/Risk**: Refining offer presentation and integrating new data sources to underwrite customers with limited or thin credit histories.
You will define and drive multi-year product strategy for the onboarding experience, capitalizing on customer demand through personalized, high-converting journeys. A key strategic responsibility is setting the approach for launching onboarding in new countries—deciding where to build globally scalable solutions versus where to localize for specific markets. You will identify opportunities to extend onboarding beyond loan origination, including pre-qualification, cross-sell at application, and reactivation of returning customers.
You will lead, coach, and grow your team of four product managers, setting high quality standards and empowering them to own end-to-end delivery from discovery through launch and iteration. You will establish operating rhythms, prioritization frameworks, and standards for application flow, data architecture, performance, and UX consistency across channels. You will ensure new market launches are quick, compliant, and meet regulatory requirements.
Cross-functionally, you will partner deeply with Engineering leadership on architecture and scaling, own key business KPIs such as conversion rate and cost per approved customer, and influence senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Operations to align on priorities and trade-offs.
