Scribd is hiring a Director of Product, Content Intelligence & Growth to lead a newly unified portfolio spanning content understanding and user-generated content (UGC) supply. You'll own the strategy and execution around Scribd's 400-million-document UGC corpus—a core strategic asset powering search, discovery, and recommendations across Scribd, Slideshare, Everand, and Fable. In this role, you'll bring together two currently separate efforts: (1) content intelligence—classification, metadata enrichment, quality analysis, and corpus gap identification—and (2) UGC supply—the end-to-end contributor experience, uploads, conversions, and acquisition strategy. You'll report directly to the Chief Product Officer and inherit established teams including a content understanding program with dedicated engineering and a UGC supply squad. Key responsibilities include owning the content understanding roadmap (classification, enrichment, metadata, quality); driving corpus gap analysis to understand where content is deep or thin; making the corpus legible to internal products and downstream systems; setting direction for classification and corpus-analysis work in partnership with applied ML and data science; owning UGC supply end-to-end with contributors as your customer; unifying content acquisition strategy across user-generated, partnership, and related programs; connecting supply to demand by partnering with consumer product teams; and building the AI product foundation of the UGC corpus (segmentation, sampling, metadata, retrieval). You'll lead senior product leaders and an established program with its own charter and engineering squads. The role requires stepping into a team with strong existing talent, earning trust quickly, raising the bar, and operating as a peer among directors and VPs in executive conversations. Required: 10+ years of product management experience including 4+ years leading product teams or senior PMs. Depth in data-heavy product domains (ML/AI-powered products, search, recommendations, content platforms) is essential. You should be comfortable interrogating classification models, running product reviews, and translating corpus data into strategic decisions. This is not a traditional consumer PM role—you need a foot in the data science world and genuine fluency with data infrastructure.
