Magenta Medical seeks a Director of Product to lead the full product lifecycle for medical devices, serving as the critical interface between market needs and R&D capabilities. You will own product strategy, roadmaps, and execution across requirements definition, specifications, pre-clinical testing, regulatory submissions, and go-to-market activities.
Key responsibilities include leading usability testing and product training initiatives, gathering customer needs for current and future products, and identifying optimized solutions. You will develop and own strategic and tactical product roadmaps, characterize new products and features, and monitor competitive activity across IP, technical features, market performance, and marketing. The role requires responsibility for all product-related risks and hazards, verification of ease-of-use, definition of use scenarios, and user-interface interactions.
You will provide support for products sold globally, interfacing with sales representatives, distributors, and end-customers. Additional duties include procuring accessories and off-the-shelf products for evaluation, providing input to product training and marketing materials, and presenting scientific and clinical data to advisory boards.
The ideal candidate holds an M.Sc. in a relevant field (M.B.A. or M.A. advantageous; Ph.D. or M.D. a plus) with at least 8 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B, or equivalent R&D experience. Strong background with FDA submissions, human factors studies, and usability verification is essential. Experience defining user interfaces, product requirements, specifications, and hazard analyses is required. Preferred experience includes cardiovascular or structural heart devices, Class III medical devices, pre-commercial stage companies, and sophisticated hardware-software systems. Excellent English proficiency (native speaker preferred), strong verbal and written communication skills, and high capacity for self-learning are essential.
