Rula, a Series C mental health and addiction treatment company, is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead the company's sourcing and vendor management strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the complete procurement lifecycle—from intake requests through contract renewal—and drive strategic sourcing initiatives that deliver fair pricing, clear terms, and strong service levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiating complex vendor contracts across the organization
- Owning and optimizing the Zip procurement platform to improve intake routing, approval speed, and user experience
- Conducting spend analysis and building financial models to ensure purchasing decisions align with company budget
- Creating proactive renewal tracking systems and maintaining complete, auditable records of vendor commitments to prevent auto-renewals or lapses
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance teams to support business needs while maintaining legal and financial standards
- Building a clear, efficient, and supportive purchasing process across the entire company
- Managing multiple concurrent sourcing projects, vendor reviews, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Rula is a remote-first company currently hiring across most U.S. states (excluding Hawaii). The company is dedicated to making mental health care accessible and evidence-based, with a focus on treating the whole person.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 7 years dedicated to strategic sourcing, with demonstrated track record of both hands-on sourcing execution and leading/managing procurement teams
- Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts to deliver fair terms, value, and risk mitigation
- Strong background in spend analysis, financial modeling, and aligning purchasing decisions with company budget requirements; highly analytical approach to assessing procurement needs and generating data-driven recommendations
- Strong partnership skills with track record of understanding core business needs and aligning with Legal, Privacy, AI, Security, and Finance teams
- Practical understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, along with experience creating clear, auditable tracking systems for contract renewals and obligations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects, vendor reviews, and deadlines effectively
- Ability to create clarity, structure, and priorities in dynamic or rapidly changing environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using or optimizing the Zip procurement intake platform
- Prior experience working within the healthcare or health-tech industry
- Experience evolving operational systems and purchasing workflows from transactional setups into scalable, enterprise-grade capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to connect procurement initiatives directly to broader organizational goals, multi-year business strategies, and financial models
- Experience driving user adoption for new processes or platforms across teams with varying technical or procurement familiarity
