Semperis is seeking an experienced Director of Platform Engineering to lead its global platform and DevOps team. This role is based in Tel Aviv and operates on a hybrid model (up to three days per week in office).
You will be responsible for defining and executing platform and DevOps strategy aligned with business objectives, building and mentoring a high-performing global team of engineers, and architecting scalable platform solutions that meet enterprise security requirements. Key responsibilities include optimizing developer experience through modern tooling and automation, balancing strategic initiatives with operational commitments, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring platform reliability, performance, and security across all SaaS and on-premises products.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of platform engineering experience, 4+ years leading distributed technical teams, and a proven track record building and scaling SaaS products from the ground up. You should have deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), hybrid architectures, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability platforms. Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks is essential, particularly for regulated industries and large-scale enterprise deployments.
Leadership qualities are critical: exceptional communication and collaboration skills, strategic thinking with execution capability, experience mentoring technical teams, and a track record of successful change management. Fluency in English and Hebrew is required, with experience leading multilingual and global teams preferred.
