Scopely, a leading mobile games publisher and interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Director of Operations for its Slate Development Group. This role owns end-to-end operational oversight of Scopely's game development slate, ensuring cross-functional alignment and execution excellence across multiple in-development titles. You will serve as the operational backbone of the Slate Development Group, managing two core responsibilities: (1) keeping the organization running smoothly through cadence, process, and day-to-day support for leadership and the Game Board, and (2) running program management for the Game Development Framework (GDF) to move games cleanly from concept to launch. Key responsibilities include: - Serve as the operational point of contact for in-development games, running GDF cadence and ensuring decisions are made once and stick across game and central teams - Deliver operational excellence within the internal team, shaping service models, priorities, and ways of working - Drive the cross-slate operating model to encourage reuse of proven solutions across independent game teams - Bring structure to consequential decisions by organizing inputs, assumptions, and trade-offs for leadership alignment - Own a capstone project (e.g., evolving the GDF, launch readiness, operationalizing central partnerships) - Keep investment decisions well-informed by tracking progress across games at different stages and surfacing Greenlight Case, budget, staffing, and dependency status - Unblock teams through development cycles, especially at launch, by clearing operational issues with central partners (legal, IT, procurement, finance, logistics) - Provide production perspective, process facilitation, and GDF navigation support to teams - Operationalize playtests and validation by building and running research plans and packaging findings for leadership - Leverage AI technologies to maintain dashboards, status tracking, and key dates visibility You will work across all parts of Scopely: game teams, divisional leadership, finance, strategy, and corporate development. This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining clarity. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus) or equivalent experience - 10+ years in program/project management across tech and direct-to-consumer businesses, with at least 5 years in games working within or alongside development teams - Deep understanding of how games are made and sold (development, publishing, platforms, business models) - Experience supporting senior executives in fast-moving environments with ability to take initiative and switch priorities without losing focus - Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, ideally a mix of R&D and live operations - Comfort with ambiguity and strong ability to create clarity for others; sound judgment in company interest with appropriate escalation - Proficiency with P&Ls and free-to-play KPIs - Ability to identify and fix processes that slow teams down; willingness to push back and drive important debates - Strong relationship-building skills across all levels with presence to grow into a partner role with senior game leaders - Excellent written communication and deck-building skills with cross-functional input - Natural attention to detail and organizational skills - Low ego, business outcomes focused, open to feedback, and genuinely curious about all aspects of the business - Passion for games and the industry
