Salary: USD 110,000 - 150,000 / annual
Marathon Health is seeking a Director of Operations to lead a defined geographic region and drive operational excellence across multiple health centers. This senior leadership role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management, blending clinical and operational expertise to deliver exceptional healthcare experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own full P&L responsibility for the region, managing labor, supplies, and expenses while driving performance against budget
- Champion operational discipline, quality, safety, and infection control standards across all health centers
- Lead adoption of standardized systems and performance monitoring tools, including auditing and in-person reviews
- Drive patient, client, and teammate satisfaction goals with proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with governmental, accreditation, and regulatory requirements
- Hire, develop, and lead clinical and operational teams with clear goal-setting, performance management, and accountability
- Oversee center staffing to maintain patient access and provider support
- Collaborate on new center launches and onboarding
- Drive visit volume, engagement, and participation rates across the region
- Optimize health center schedules to promote efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Participate in education and enrollment activities for patient acquisition
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, multisite services, or comparable industry
- Proven success building and developing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated full P&L responsibility for a large business unit or division
- Expertise leading teams across clinical, operational, and business functions
- Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and business judgment
- Ability to thrive in matrixed, fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Exceptional client-facing and executive partnership skills
- Passion for patient-centered care and teammate engagement
Preferred: Experience in value-based healthcare, employer-sponsored healthcare, or population health management.
Candidates must reside in Milwaukee WI, Chicago IL (covering entire state), or St. Louis MO.
