Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Director of International Trade Compliance to lead trade compliance strategy for the Air Maneuver Dominance & Maritime division. This role bridges engineering, program management, compliance, and senior leadership to ensure product teams align with export control regulations and compliance frameworks.
Key responsibilities include designing and managing controls plans for commercial dual-use platforms globally; partnering with senior leadership to shape strategic direction and translate compliance goals into organizational priorities; developing and implementing trade compliance policies that balance regulatory requirements with business objectives; coordinating with external partners (suppliers, US Government, foreign agencies) to align product roadmaps with compliance posture; driving consistent export classification processes across global operations; developing classification methodologies and leveraging AI for risk-mitigated determinations; deploying J/C training curricula; overseeing MD export authorizations and license compliance; supporting hardware exports and controlled imports; providing ITAR, EAR, and international regulation guidance to staff; performing compliance assessments and supporting corrective actions; leading working groups and cross-functional initiatives; developing strategies for multi-jurisdictional collaborative environments; and navigating co-production and co-development projects across multiple countries.
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years managing international trade regulations expertise (Australia, EU, US, UK); 10+ years in product development, defense technology, startups, or defense contracting; 5+ years in trade compliance, international trade controls, or international contracts management; understanding of engineering concepts across software and hardware; and eligibility to obtain and maintain US Top Secret clearance. Must be a US person. Travel up to 25% required.
