Verse Medical is a Series C healthtech company (backed by General Catalyst, SignalFire, and Sapphire Ventures) building modern software infrastructure to coordinate care between providers, payors, and patients. The company is transitioning from a provider-focused business to expand into the health plan vertical, and this role leads that strategic expansion.
As Director of Enterprise Payor Growth, you will own the strategic sales effort to health plans and payor organizations. You will manage your own book of business targeting national and regional health plans, serving as the primary point of accountability for deal progression, quota attainment, and successful implementation. Your responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining executive-level relationships with C-suite and VP-level decision makers at health plans, navigating complex 6–18 month sales cycles.
- Owning end-to-end deal progression from sourcing through close and implementation.
- Collaborating with marketing on positioning, messaging, and content development to support brand recognition in the payor vertical.
- Designing, selling, and negotiating innovative contract models, including pricing, SLAs, and terms in partnership with legal and data teams.
- Traveling to customer meetings and industry conferences as needed to represent Verse and strengthen relationships.
- Identifying and escalating blockers to deal progression; working cross-functionally to find creative solutions.
- Building repeatable playbooks and processes to enable the growing sales team's long-term success.
The role is fully remote and reports into the leadership team driving the payor vertical expansion.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years selling in healthcare, including 5+ years specifically selling to health plans, with a consistent track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Proven experience sourcing and closing enterprise health plan contracts, managing sales cycles across multiple executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on complex financial and regulatory domains within healthcare and build deep fluency in product, operations, and customer value proposition.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with CRM tools and sales/marketing technology (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; track record of leading others by setting high standards and communicating empathetically.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
