Rula is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead analytics efforts focused on patient experience and product development. In this player-coach role, you will manage a dedicated data science team while driving your own high-impact projects. You'll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers to develop product features that address key consumer pain points in mental healthcare.
Your responsibilities include leading analyses to support product strategy, designing and conducting A/B tests, analyzing business and product performance metrics, and contributing to product planning. You'll translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, directly influencing product decisions that impact hundreds of thousands of people seeking mental health care.
Required experience includes 10+ years in related professional roles, with at least 5 years in data analytics or data science supporting multiple business functions (Sales, Clinical Operations, Finance, Customer Experience). You must have solid people management experience building and leading teams, deep expertise in statistical analysis and A/B testing, and strong proficiency in Python and/or SQL. Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) and deep understanding of product analytics metrics (retention, conversion, engagement, churn) is essential.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience in high-growth startups, consumer digital marketplaces, or healthcare; ability to connect analytics to business strategy; and experience with AI/ML and ranking systems.
