Alpaca is seeking a Director of Data to lead its ~15-person data department across Platform Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Data Science. You will own the data strategy, team execution, and departmental roadmap, managing three team leads while balancing operational delivery with strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing three sub-teams (Platform Engineering & ETL, Analytics Engineering, Data Science & Analytics), owning the Data Lakehouse architecture (Trino, Iceberg/GCS, Airflow, Airbyte, Redpanda CDC, dbt), and driving partner invoicing accuracy and evolution.
