The Nuclear Company is a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering fleet-scale nuclear reactor deployment. The Director of Accounting, Deployment serves as the divisional controllership lead for the company's growing nuclear deployment business, reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.
This role owns the accuracy and integrity of the division's financials, including month-end close, corporate consolidation reporting, accounting policy, and internal controls across Deployment entities, joint ventures, special-purpose vehicles, projects, and acquired businesses. The Director will work closely with the Head of Finance (Deployment), Corporate Controllership, and external auditors to establish scalable accounting processes, integrate acquisitions and new projects, and ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include: owning the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of divisional financial results and project reporting; establishing a reliable divisional close process aligned with corporate standards; managing accounting policy, internal controls, and compliance across complex structures; leading integration of acquisitions and new projects; building and scaling the accounting team; ensuring audit readiness and SOX/ICFR compliance; and leveraging AI and the Nuclear Operating System (NOS) to improve process quality, speed, and impact.
