Robinhood is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the Corporate Accounting team and oversee the month-end and quarterly close processes. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, managing global accounting functions including opex accruals, prepaids, payroll accounting, and intercompany transactions.
You will lead a high-performing team and drive significant process improvements and automation initiatives, including leveraging AI to identify and eliminate repetitive tasks. The role involves overseeing ERP and system implementations (Oracle, Coupa, Workday, Oracle FCCS) as the financial systems DRI, supporting product accounting initiatives, and ensuring all internal controls over financial reporting comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Key responsibilities include managing the full month-end consolidation process for global operations, evaluating existing processes to optimize close timelines, coordinating with external auditors and service providers, and building a center of excellence team to support controllership functions. You will develop strong cross-functional relationships and proactively support the fast-growing business.
The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting or business, plus 4+ years in a leadership role. You should have proven expertise in accounting and analytical skills, a track record of leading process improvements in high-growth environments, and hands-on experience with enterprise accounting systems. Strong communication, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to hire, develop, and retain top talent are essential.
