Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building modular power and compute systems for large-scale AI workloads. The company owns and operates the full stack from energy generation through deployment, with a competitive advantage centered on speed of design, manufacturing, and deployment.
You will serve as the single-threaded New Product Introduction (NPI) Leader for Spark, Crusoe's next-generation product. You own the entire NPI program and run it end-to-end, though you do not design the product or operate the factory. Your core responsibilities include:
**Gate Framework & Release Authority:** Own and execute a five-phase gate framework (Concept and Feasibility, Design and Development, Prototype and Verification, Pilot and Pre-Production, Launch and Scale). You set entry and exit criteria, run all gate reviews, and hold release authority for design freeze and production decisions. You maintain a readiness scorecard based on Manufacturing Readiness Level standards and ensure no unverified risk passes a gate without explicit sign-off and a tracked action plan. You chair the change control board from design freeze onward, managing ECO/ECN flow through PLM.
**Program Execution Across Functions:** Translate the product roadmap into specific, dated readiness demands on Crusoe Industries, Supply Chain, Quality, and Field Operations. You own the integrated schedule, risk register, and action log day-to-day, driving closure rather than reporting. You plan and execute EVT, DVT, and PVT builds with internal and contract manufacturing partners, working on the floor to convert findings into tracked actions. You define manufacturing readiness criteria for Crusoe Industries to clear at each gate and verify them against evidence. You surface long-lead items, tooling commitments, and single-source supply risks early to protect schedule. You ensure compute and rack-scale infrastructure (power delivery, liquid cooling, networking, cabling) is integrated and validated before release.
**Launch & Learning:** Hold manufacturing partners accountable to yield, quality, and cost targets. Maintain a current view of gate position, risks, and launch readiness for the Spark Group Product Manager and executives. Run formal post-launch reviews and fold findings into the next cycle's gate criteria.
You will start as the sole owner of this function and build the team as volume scales. This role requires holding gates closed under schedule pressure from people who outrank you, backed by evidence and disciplined risk management.
**Requirements:**
*Education:* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related discipline.
*Experience:* 10–15 years in new product introduction, manufacturing engineering, or hardware program management, including at least one product generation carried from concept through ramp under a formal phase gate framework. Demonstrated ownership of gate and release decisions, including holding a gate closed under schedule pressure. Hands-on execution of validation and pilot builds (not just program reporting). Experience priming both an internal factory and an external contract manufacturer for the same product. Track record driving readiness across organizations you do not control, with credibility in both engineering and manufacturing.
*Technical Depth:* Phase gate frameworks, gate entry/exit criteria, readiness assessment, EVT/DVT/PVT execution. PLM, indented BOM, revision control, ECO/ECN workflow, and change control board leadership. DFM, DFA, and DFT applied before design freeze. Design FMEA, first article inspection, non-conformance and corrective action, factory acceptance testing. Long-lead and single-source risk management, supplier qualification timing, tooling commitments. Sufficient command of electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems to judge whether a modular power and compute package is releasable.
*Additional Qualifications:* Experience with modular, containerized, or prefabricated infrastructure products. Familiarity with liquid-cooled data center hardware, including CDU and rack-level cooling interfaces. The discipline to hold a gate closed when the schedule says otherwise, and the judgment to know when the risk is worth taking.
