As Director of M&A for France, you will lead the company's acquisition strategy and execution in the French market. You will manage multiple acquisition processes annually from initial evaluation through post-closing integration, meeting with software business owners to assess fit against acquisition criteria and determine valuations. Post-acquisition, you own strategy and key operational improvements, working closely with origination teams, operating partners, and finance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting with software owners to communicate Banyan's value proposition as a permanent home for acquired businesses
- Leading multiple acquisition processes per year from LOI through closing, collaborating with owners on key issues and obstacles
- Analyzing financial data and building valuation models
- Leading due diligence to identify risks and opportunities in target companies
- Managing internal resources and external advisors (technical, accounting, legal)
- Overseeing post-acquisition integration, implementing best practices and capitalizing on identified opportunities
- Maintaining relationships with intermediaries and investment bankers
- Building and leading an M&A team to support vertical development
Required qualifications:
- Proven M&A leadership experience with significant buy-side transaction volume in software/technology in France
- Ability to influence strategy, develop team, and grow the region while remaining hands-on in transactions as the region's lead executor
- Strong financial acumen and ability to build presentations for executive committees and boards
- Ability to quickly assess key risks and opportunities
- Negotiation and execution skills with business owners and executives
- Professional fluency in English and French (written and oral)
- CA/CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
