Grafana Labs, a leading observability platform trusted by 7,000+ customers including Anthropic, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Salesforce, is seeking a Director of Legal - Commercial (Americas). This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial Legal, combining hands-on transaction work with team management and mentorship.
You will lead the negotiation and execution of Grafana's most complex, high-value commercial transactions, including enterprise SaaS agreements, self-managed software licenses, data processing contracts, channel partnerships, and strategic technology agreements—including those involving AI and emerging technologies. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to sales leadership and senior stakeholders on deal structuring, negotiation strategy, and legal risk management, helping accelerate revenue while protecting the company.
As a people leader, you will manage and mentor attorneys within the Americas commercial legal team, promote consistent contracting practices, and help scale operations and processes. You'll also support broader commercial legal initiatives including advising on go-to-market models, channel programs, privacy and regulatory matters, and maintaining commercial legal templates and playbooks.
The ideal candidate brings significant experience leading negotiations of complex, high-value agreements with Fortune 500 and sophisticated enterprise customers, often on customer paper and in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, public sector). You are an exceptional drafter and strategic negotiator with strong executive presence, business judgment, and the ability to distinguish material legal risk from negotiable issues. You thrive in a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment and excel at building trusted advisor relationships across organizations.
