Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations enabling real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions in national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. The company designs, builds, and rapidly deploys vertically integrated systems powering next-generation space missions.
The Director, International Growth will drive end-to-end business development and growth across Northwood's international customer base, shaping the company's strategy in support of sovereign and allied space priorities. This role leads engagement across priority international accounts, develops deep relationships across foreign government and allied commercial space ecosystems, and serves as a strategic partner to leadership, product, engineering, and mission teams.
Key responsibilities include: driving business development from early customer engagement through contract award and follow-on expansion; developing and maintaining relationships with foreign government space agencies, sovereign programs, and allied commercial operators; creating and executing account and campaign strategies for priority international customers; identifying and pursuing opportunities aligned to Northwood's capabilities in sovereign space communications and ground infrastructure; partnering with product, engineering, and leadership teams to translate customer needs into company strategy and technical positioning; providing insight into international space market dynamics, export control considerations, and funding structures; and navigating ITAR/EAR frameworks in structuring international opportunities.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in business development, growth, capture, or program strategy supporting international government or commercial space customers, with deep understanding of international space market dynamics, sovereign procurement pathways, and global partnership structures. Experience with sovereign space programs, allied government initiatives, international commercial operators, space communications, ground infrastructure, foreign government stakeholder engagement, and export control frameworks is preferred. Early-stage space company experience and established relationships across sovereign programs and global partners are valued. The role requires in-person presence in Los Angeles or Washington, DC with international travel capability.
