Anthropic is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Supply Chain Accounting to lead accounting for the components and integrated systems flowing through Anthropic's compute stack—from chips and networking hardware through racks and data center buildouts. This role sits at the heart of Anthropic's $50B+ investment in American computing infrastructure and will shape how the company's rapidly growing fixed asset base is accounted for and understood across the business.
You will own end-to-end accounting strategy and execution for the supply chain accounting function, working closely with Data Center Operations, Real Estate, Finance, and Legal teams. Key responsibilities include: leading accounting for components flowing through the compute stack (cost accumulation, reserves, monthly close, reconciliations, and transition to fixed asset status); applying technical accounting expertise under ASC 360 (capitalization, useful lives, impairment, disposals) combined with cost accounting judgment; partnering with cross-functional teams during contract negotiation to ensure accounting implications are understood upfront; serving as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders by translating financial impacts into actionable insights; collaborating to improve upstream data pipelines and component tracking from purchase order through deployment; designing and scaling systems, processes, and controls for a rapidly growing fixed asset portfolio; leading and mentoring a team of accounting professionals; serving as a key point of contact with external auditors; and driving process improvements and automation.
Ideal candidates bring 12+ years of progressive accounting experience at technology, manufacturing, or infrastructure-heavy companies. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or equivalent is preferred. You should possess strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 360 and applied experience with cost accounting concepts (BOM-based costing, standard vs. actual, obsolescence analysis) in a supply chain context. Experience managing significant fixed asset or component/inventory portfolios in high-growth environments is essential. You should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, comfort with large complex datasets, a track record of improving scalable financial processes in fast-moving environments, and experience leading accounting teams. Strong communication and cross-functional influence skills are critical.
Bonus qualifications include experience at semiconductor companies, hardware OEMs/ODMs, contract manufacturers, or hyperscalers with exposure to complex BOM-based assemblies and infrastructure asset structures, as well as experience with fixed asset subledger and component/inventory management systems at scale (NetSuite, Oracle, etc.).
