Ascendis Pharma, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Director of Healthcare Compliance Counsel to join its growing Compliance Team in Hellerup, Denmark. Reporting to the SVP of Compliance, Risk & Corporate Responsibility, you will serve as a key business partner for international markets and global functions, ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare laws and regulations across the company's operations in Europe and the United States. Your primary responsibilities include acting as a business partner for international markets on all compliance-related matters, conducting legal reviews of materials, supporting global function compliance work, developing and maintaining policies and procedures, delivering face-to-face compliance training to colleagues, and performing compliance monitoring activities. You will work within a Compliance Team of 7 colleagues, alongside an Enterprise Risk Management specialist and ESG expert, in a fast-paced, matrix-driven global organization. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of legal compliance experience in the pharmaceutical industry with significant international exposure, particularly in managing healthcare professional (HCP)-related activities and conducting legal material reviews. You must hold a legal background and demonstrate a proven track record of effectively collaborating across matrix organizations at both global and affiliate levels. Strong cultural understanding, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while remaining composed under pressure are essential. Key competencies include strong teamwork, analytical thinking, a can-do attitude, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You should thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are valued, and be capable of providing solution-oriented assistance to the business. Excellent English proficiency is required, along with professional maturity and impeccable ethics and integrity. The role involves approximately 10-15 days of travel per year. This is an in-office position based at Ascendis Pharma's headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.
