Form Energy is hiring a Director of Global Supply Chain Planning & Controls to build and lead the supply chain planning function at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, West Virginia. This role reports to the VP of Global Supply Chain and owns planning end-to-end: demand planning, supply and material planning, and material coordination that keeps production lines running.
Form Energy manufactures long-duration iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage. The company is at a distinctive inflection point: simultaneously running new product introduction builds and scaling production on the same factory floor for a battery chemistry with no existing playbook. This role requires someone comfortable with both the fluid, high-change cadence of NPI and the disciplined, throughput-focused systems needed for scaled production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading the Global Supply Chain Planning & Controls organization spanning demand planning, supply/material planning, and material coordination
- Owning and evolving Form's Sales & Operations Planning process, consolidating commercial, engineering, and internal test demand into a single trusted demand signal and translating it into build, headcount, and deployment plans
- Owning demand planning end-to-end, aligning stakeholders across Commercial, Engineering, and Manufacturing
- Owning supply and material planning strategy, including inventory strategy, MRP/ERP system parameters, master data integrity, and supplier ramp coordination
- Owning material coordination and production control at FF1, ensuring materials, WIP, and finished goods flow to support both NPI builds and scaling production
- Building and developing a team of planning and controls leaders, setting standards for data-driven decision-making
- Delivering clear-to-build status, capacity and constraint analysis, and what-if scenario planning to inform executive decisions
- Adapting planning cadence and rigor to the environment, running tight flexible processes for NPI and disciplined high-throughput processes for scaled production in parallel
- Partnering closely with Global Supply Managers, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, and Finance
Form Factory 1 is a 550,000-square-foot facility near Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Finance, or related discipline (APICS/CPIM certification is a plus)
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or manufacturing operations, including at least 5 years in a people leadership role building and scaling teams
- Demonstrated experience owning planning end-to-end (demand, supply, material, production control), ideally spanning both new product introduction and high-volume scaled manufacturing
- Deep fluency in MRP/ERP systems, S&OP processes, and discrete manufacturing planning, including bills of material, product lifecycle management, and procure-to-pay processes
- Track record of building planning organizations and systems from the ground up in fast-scaling or novel manufacturing environments
- Strong analytical rigor paired with executive presence to bring senior leadership along on complex tradeoffs, constraints, and ramp decisions
- Willingness to be based onsite at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, West Virginia, with range to operate across both NPI and scaled production contexts
