TetraScience is the Scientific Data and AI Company building Tetra OS, an operating system for scientific intelligence. The company helps leading life sciences firms transform fragmented scientific data into AI-native assets and scientific workflows that accelerate discovery, development, and manufacturing. Strategic partners include NVIDIA, Databricks, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Snowflake, Google, and Microsoft.
This role serves as the CFO's right hand and primary business partner across the organization, with two core dimensions:
**Financial Model Ownership:** You will own the TetraScience financial model end-to-end—the company's single source of truth for annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, scenarios, headcount, and cash management. This includes running monthly flash and month-end close processes post-accounting close, owning the Plan-Actual-Variance-Root Cause Analysis-Remediation (PAVRR) process, supporting global resource planning with headcount reconciliation, and managing the quarterly financial planning cycle. The model is internally built and operated through an AI assistant layer that you will maintain and augment; you will use it to explain results and forecast the future while continuously automating routine work.
**Leadership Operating Cadence:** You will coordinate the bi-weekly TetraScience Leadership Team (TLT) meeting by soliciting topics, building agendas, preparing pre-reads, and circulating materials. You will collect and normalize metric inputs from across the business—pipeline, ARR/ACV, hiring metrics, customer health, and functional KPIs—into a consistent reporting pack. You will prepare the CFO for forums he does not run with briefing notes, key questions, and follow-up tracking.
**G&A Business Partnership:** You will act as finance approver and partner for HR, Recruiting, IT, and Marketing on requisitions, headcount planning, offer budgets, and compensation adjustments. You will approve and track contractor engagements, own vendor/SaaS/tooling/marketing budgets (ERP, recruiting tools, IT spend, events), partner with Sales Ops on commission calculations, and produce budget-versus-actual P&Ls for G&A, R&D, and Delivery.
**Reporting & Analysis:** You will produce weekly cash forecasts and pipeline snapshots, monthly KPI reporting (ARR, ACV, NRR, GRR, bookings coverage, CAC payback, burn multiple, ARR per FTE, turnover, time to hire), and support lender, bank, and investor reporting packages.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or comparable quantitative field (CFA, CPA, or MBA welcome but not substitutes for modeling expertise)
- 7–10 years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting, with at least 3 years in high-growth B2B technology
- Expert financial modeling in Excel or Google Sheets: three-statement, driver-based, scenario, and cohort models built from scratch
- Working command of SaaS metrics: ARR, ACV, NRR, GRR, bookings coverage, CAC payback, burn multiple, magic number
- Demonstrated ownership of executive or board-level operating cadence: agenda, pre-reads, decision capture, follow-through
- Hands-on AI fluency: you have built or materially extended a working process with Claude, ChatGPT, or comparable tooling; can describe what you built, where it broke, and how you verify output
- Reading fluency in NetSuite or comparable ERP and Salesforce; BI tooling (Looker, Tableau, Sigma) and SQL useful but not required
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Key competencies: strong FP&A analyst background with ability to build models independently; arrives at meetings fully prepared with noticed discrepancies and formed views; brings pre-worked problems with recommendations; clear writing to explain numbers to non-finance audiences; sound judgment with confidential material (compensation, equity, headcount, financing)
