Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack from power generation to compute delivery. The company is solving the AI compute bottleneck through an energy-first approach, combining on-site generation, stranded/flared gas, grid power, and renewable energy sources to power large-scale AI workloads.
As Director of Finance for Power Production & Energy, you will be the embedded finance partner to Crusoe's Power Production and Energy organization. This is a highly cross-functional role bridging finance discipline with the energy infrastructure side of an AI infrastructure business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Power Generation Economics: Partner with the Power Production team to model levelized cost of energy (LCOE), plant utilization, and unit economics across on-site generation assets.
- PPA & Offtake Evaluation: Financially model and evaluate power purchase agreements, interconnection arrangements, and offtake contracts in collaboration with Legal and Energy teams.
- Capital Planning: Lead capital planning and investment cases for new generation, transmission, and energy storage projects, tracking returns against underwriting assumptions.
- FP&A: Manage financial planning and analysis for all power generation and energy activities, ensuring proper reflection in close, forecast, budget, and long-range planning.
- Energy Market Analysis: Monitor wholesale power and natural gas market trends, translating market movements into financial impact and planning assumptions for leadership.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as connective tissue between Power Production, Data Center Operations, and corporate FP&A to align power supply plans with compute demand forecasts.
- Regulatory & Incentive Tracking: Evaluate financial impact of energy tax credits, environmental regulations, and policy changes on generation economics.
You will bring 8+ years of finance experience with meaningful time supporting power generation, energy, or utilities businesses. Strong understanding of power and energy economics, advanced financial modeling skills, and experience evaluating capital projects are essential. Familiarity with energy market dynamics, wholesale power pricing, and natural gas markets is required. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
