Crusoe is seeking a Director of Construction & Data Center Operations Finance to own financial oversight of capital projects across their entire lifecycle—from groundbreaking through energization, turnover, and ongoing operations. This role bridges Construction/Development, Project Finance, Data Center Operations, and Accounting, requiring financial rigor in both a fast-moving construction environment and a live operating environment with contractual uptime and performance commitments.
Key responsibilities include:
**Budgeting & Cost Control**: Own construction budgets for assigned campuses/projects, partnering with Development, Construction Management, and Procurement to build and maintain accurate total installed cost (TIC) estimates. Track budget-to-actual performance across hard costs, soft costs, and contingency; identify and escalate variances and change orders early.
**Draw Management & Financing Compliance**: Ensure construction spend and project milestones comply with loan agreements, equity funding agreements, and project-level financing covenants. Partner with Treasury/Capital Markets to forecast funding needs and ensure capital availability across multiple concurrent projects.
**Commercial & Contract Support**: Support financial review of GC contracts, EPC agreements, and major vendor/equipment purchase agreements. Partner with Legal and Procurement on financial terms, payment structures, and risk allocation.
**Project Lifecycle Management**: Maintain portfolio-level view of construction projects for leadership, board, and lender/investor reporting. Own financial handoff from construction to operations, including final cost reconciliation and asset turnover. Build scalable tools and processes as Crusoe's concurrent builds grow.
**Data Center Operations Finance**: Own financial oversight of energized data centers, including operating budgets, actual-vs-budget performance, and cost-per-MW/cost-per-rack benchmarking. Partner with Operations, Facilities, and Power teams to track costs and identify efficiency opportunities. Support financial reporting on operational performance metrics tied to customer contracts and lender commitments (uptime/SLA compliance, PUE, capacity utilization). Manage transition from construction accounting to operating asset financials. Monitor capex needs and incorporate into portfolio-level capital planning.
**Cross-Functional Partnership**: Serve as finance point of contact for Construction Management, Development, Data Center Operations, Project Finance, and Accounting. Provide analysis to support board materials, lender reporting, and investor due diligence.
Required: 8+ years in construction finance, project controls, capital projects accounting, or project finance, ideally in data centers, energy, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure. Direct exposure to data center or facilities operations finance strongly preferred.
