Figma is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead the data science organization within the AI Products group. This role sits at the center of Figma's next-generation AI products, including Make, Figma Agent, Design Systems, and related initiatives. You will lead a team of data scientists and data science managers, setting the vision for how data shapes product strategy and measurement across Figma's AI-powered offerings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supporting, and growing a team of data scientists and managers with expertise in product strategy, internal tooling, and impact measurement
- Championing data quality, accessibility, and democratization across the company
- Establishing trust and accountability within and across teams while fostering a positive work environment
- Partnering with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to drive data-driven impact
- Shaping how Figma measures AI products, including evals, quality metrics, and experimentation frameworks for LLM-powered assistants and agents in partnership with AI Research
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years managing and leading high-output Data Science teams, with at least 2 years managing other managers
- 7+ years working in AI, Data Science, or related fields
- Proven experience building or measuring AI products, ideally LLM-powered assistants, agents, chatbots, or copilots
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical methods, experimentation, and/or forecasting
- Ability to scale teams in high-growth environments with a commitment to building inclusive and diverse culture
Preferred qualifications include experience owning 0-to-1 product areas. This is a full-time role available from Figma's US hubs (San Francisco or New York) or remote within the United States.
