Veeam is seeking a Director of Data Governance to lead the design and execution of a federated, AI-ready data governance model. You will own the technical and operational backbone of data certification, lineage, and continuous quality scoring across Veeam's data ecosystem.
In this role, you will:
- Operate Databricks Unity Catalog and Atlan as the technical and business-facing platforms for data certification, scaling domain by domain across the organization
- Build and maintain continuous, agent-driven scoring systems that assign live trust scores to certified data assets, with automated actions triggered by quality degradation
- Own executive intelligence reporting that provides leadership with real-time visibility into data trustworthiness across the enterprise
- Register, govern, and monitor AI agents that consume certified data, ensuring lineage and quality standards are maintained as AI tooling evolves
- Establish and enforce central data governance standards while distributing ownership to domain teams, balancing pragmatism with rigor
- Shape the sequencing of governance initiatives based on evidence and business outcomes rather than ambition alone
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to establish Bronze-to-Silver-to-Gold data pipelines, with named owners and accountability at each stage
This is a builder and execution role for a deep subject matter expert with full autonomy to move fast and deliver results. You will influence organizational direction through the standards you set and the governance rhythm you establish. The strategy and mission are defined; your job is to make certification, lineage, and continuous scoring operationally real.
You thrive in ambiguity and are energized by the pace of AI tooling evolution. You treat data quality as a personal accountability at every level—from source systems to dashboards to agent outputs. You prefer to have AI agents draft the first pass of solutions rather than wait for meetings, and you see governance as a continuous standing rhythm, not a one-off exercise.
