MoonPay is a high-growth fintech company building infrastructure for value movement—crypto, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and emerging payment rails. The company serves 30M+ customers and 500+ ecosystem partners, operating under licenses and regulations across the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia.
As Director of Data & Analytics, you will own the Product Data & Analytics function reporting to the CTO of Ramps & Platform. This is a builder's role with a clear mandate: establish and scale a world-class data organization that becomes the competitive advantage for faster, better product decisions.
You will build and lead a cross-functional team spanning three disciplines: Data Scientists (experimentation, modeling, causal inference), Analytics Engineers (data modeling, self-serve infrastructure), and Data Analysts (product metrics, dashboards, ad hoc analysis). You'll design the organizational structure, leveling frameworks, and career paths that allow each discipline to scale independently while working cohesively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the direction, roadmap, and operating model for Product Data & Analytics
- Recruiting and hiring across all three data disciplines and levels
- Standardizing how product metrics, experimentation, and analytics are built and consumed across the company
- Partnering directly with Product and Engineering leadership to embed analytics and experimentation into the product development lifecycle
- Setting technical and quality standards for data modeling, experimentation methodology, and reporting practices
- Representing data and analytics needs in cross-functional planning with Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Compliance
- Mentoring team leads and senior individual contributors to build a pipeline of future managers
- Reporting on team health, hiring progress, and analytics impact to senior leadership
You bring 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or analytics engineering, with significant time in a management or leadership role. You have a proven track record of building and scaling a data/analytics function from the ground up or through a high-growth phase, including hands-on hiring across multiple disciplines. You have deep experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to embed analytics and experimentation into product development. You possess strong technical fluency across the disciplines you'll manage—you don't need to write production code daily, but you can evaluate tradeoffs in data modeling and experimentation design. Experience in fintech, payments, or crypto is a strong plus, as is an active interest in cryptocurrency and Web3.
