Salary: USD 180,000 - 250,000 / annual

Clear Street is a fintech company modernizing the brokerage ecosystem with a cloud-native clearing and custody platform. Founded in 2018, the firm handles billions in daily trading volume and serves as a diversified financial services provider replacing legacy capital markets infrastructure. As Director of Credit Risk, you will lead the Credit Risk function within Clear Street's Risk Management Team, shaping and executing the firm's credit risk strategy as it scales. This is a senior leadership role requiring independent management of a complex institutional client portfolio, direct regulatory engagement, and evolution of the firm's credit risk framework. Key responsibilities include: - Assess credit and financial strength of prospective counterparties using quantitative and qualitative fundamental analysis - Monitor credit risk exposures across the client base daily, analyzing portfolio concentrations and trends - Recommend and communicate credit exposure appetite across trading products using internal policies and methodologies - Serve as primary liaison for regulatory examinations and audits (SEC, FINRA, others), preparing documentation and ensuring timely remediation - Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales & Trading, Legal, Operations, and Compliance on client due diligence, legal negotiations, and efficiency projects Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or quantitative field (Master's or CFA preferred) - Minimum 8-10 years credit risk management experience at a prime brokerage, broker-dealer, or investment bank - Proven direct experience interfacing with regulators and external auditors, leading exam responses and managing audit deliverables - Deep expertise in counterparty credit risk across prime brokerage products: securities financing, margin lending, derivatives, cleared products, and digital assets - Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex risk issues to senior leadership, clients, and external stakeholders Clear Street offers competitive compensation, company equity, 401k matching, parental leave, and comprehensive health insurance.
